DAY 20 — God Gives You Wisdom

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”— James 1:5 (NIV)

DEVOTION

There are moments when you simply don’t know what to do.

You may have a decision in front of you, a difficult conversation to face, or a future that feels uncertain.

You wish someone could simply tell you which way to go.

But God does not leave you to figure everything out alone.

He invites you to ask Him for wisdom.

You don’t need to have all the answers before you come to God. You don’t need to pretend that you know what you’re doing. You can come honestly and say, “Lord, I need Your wisdom.”

And Scripture tells us that God gives generously.

His wisdom may not always come as an immediate answer. Sometimes it comes through His Word, through prayer, through wise counsel, or through a quiet conviction in your heart.

So don’t be afraid of the decisions ahead.

Ask God.

Seek His wisdom.

Take the next step with humility, knowing that you don’t have to know everything when you know the One who does.

TODAY’S TRUTH

You don’t have to know every answer because you can ask God for the wisdom you need.

REFLECTION

  1. What decision or situation do you need God’s wisdom for right now?
  2. Have you been asking God for direction, or trying to figure everything out on your own?

PRAYER

Heavenly Father,

There are things I don’t understand and decisions I don’t know how to make.

Please give me wisdom. Help me recognize what is right and give me courage to follow what You show me.

Keep me from making decisions based only on fear, emotions, or pressure. Teach me to seek You first and trust Your wisdom.

Thank You for inviting me to ask.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
